Like an Addiction...

I was with a group of people going through a series of scary attractions. We get to the one I made, it's in a area outside of a dark decrepit looking two story house. My parents come out and start preparing a fenced in area where beds have been set up. I give the group a bit of a pre tour, the set is circular- it starts behind me with a wooded area then curves around to a distant strange looking city, with one large building in the middle, looks like a cross between a Russian town, and a handful of other European cities, probably during the early renaissance, perhaps Florence.  The large building is very detailed and realistic looking, kind of circular in shape- you can even see the reflections of the blue sky in the chrome/bronze accents on the roof. Behind the buildings was a painted sky- lots of dramatic clouds, with a orange glow- with the sun painted five times, progressing from afternoon, down to sunset, as you look from the right of the building to the left, and the sky also had a gradation of color, from yellow oranges, to red oranges and finally to cool blues as the sun sunk beneath the painted mountains to the far left. Here the set changed to a more woodsy view, with green hills, as we turned almost opposite to where we started there is a small lush valley breaking the rhythm of the rolling green hills, it looks like a fairy land, bathed in moon light, the people want to stay looking at this area, but this is just preview, and I distract them by pointing out how changing time was depicted in the set as you move from one area to another, the fairly land was bathed in cool moonlight.  Then as you continued left of the fairy land, the landscape became more dark and harsh, the sky subtly turned from mystical to menacing, and graves begin to dot the ground. We have arrived at the end, the graveyard; it is filled with gravestones, lit with harsh contrasting moonlight. In some areas skeletons look to have been climbing out of graves, but had fallen motionless just as we arrived. The crowd stepped back from the set. I told them this was the end of our tour and they were welcome to bed down anywhere in this last set as it was the closes to the house. But my parents quickly interjected that they couldn't because we have scorpions, and they had better stay in the fenced in area. I was thinking that it wouldn't make a difference if they were behind a fence, they were still outside, then I realized the height of the beds would probably help. The people still didn't seem too happy to be sleeping so near the graveyard.

Then I took people to eat at a small out door area lit by tall orangeish lights. Lots of hay everywhere , and picnic tables. Off to one side as a small wooden booth selling some sort of oriental food, you could hear the crackle of grease as you walked near it. I was with some of my friends, a few of which had been there before. I had forgotten my money so was having one of my friend pay for me and I would pay her back when we returned. We stood in line and I watched the people at the counter, one was a guy, the other a older woman who kept coming up to the counter, then going back to tell the orders to the back. Both were covered in grease and their skin shone in the orange light. On part of their menu they had pictures, and the word were either worn off, or in some other language. I saw deep fried breaded chicken that looked fairly good. I get closer to the counter, am next in line and the lady comes up again. She has strange gnarled hands, with long thick fingernails that are ridged, yellow, and curling. They look like insect shells. Additionally they keep growing, and every time the woman comes out she stops and puts her hand on the counter- which doubles as a cutting board, and grabs a pairing knife which is lying among a bunch of insect shell looking nail clippings, then chops off the end of one of her over grown fingernails. She then looks up, and rather surly takes the order of the customer in front of me. Then it's my turn, and I order breaded chicken. It costs less then I thought, she brings back a bowl of orange looking squares in a sauce, it doesn't look like the breaded chicken in the picture but I'm not really thinking about it, I just move on and stab a piece on my fork and eat it. It has a thicker texture like it could be a processed meat product, but is not really stringy like chicken. It tastes faintly sweet and I was thinking they might have some how given me sweet potatoes. My friend looks at it and asks me if it is tofu. I tell her it might be, but that would be bad since I'm allergic to tofu (I'm not actually- just my dream self apparently) so I have to go investigate to make sure its not, or I'm going to be in trouble. My mouth and throat begin to itch, but I think its nervous anticipation instead of a actual allergic reaction. In a house like building where they seem to be storing thier supplies, I find a bag with a picture of the stuff I am eating on it. Apparently it's a bunch of sauces with polish sausage as the chunks. That's strange. Didn't sound too appealing, but at least it wasn't tofu. I toss the rest then go back to get what I really wanted. The lady was there and seemed offended that I asked for something else. She said, "You didn't like the ____?"   _____ being some strange word that sounded remotely like "breaded chicken" but must have been a strange foreign dish. I said it was ok, but I wanted deep fried chicken. And left the booth as they went to make it. I had to get some more money from my friend. I got to her and she said she didn't have anymore- I was surprised she managed to spend all fifteen dollars at the booth. I only need 2.16 for my chicken. She handed me a 10 dollar bill that had a strange picture on it. I examined it and told her it wasn't real. She laughed and said of course not, its from some game she plays, but she's used them here before and they have never noticed. I am uncomfortable with this, so she calls over a girl named Erin and asks her to go pay form my food with the fake money.  I didn't think she'd go for it since she seemed like a nice honest girl, but she laughed and took the money. As she was walking to the counter I called after her telling her never mind, I'm canceling my order. I'm not hungry anymore anyways.

We returned to the area we were sleeping at, but it was now a bit different. In the center was a cabin or shack of some sort. My friend Leah was there, along with a bunch of other friends (no one else specific). There was also these two guys there, one a big guy with broad shoulders and a shaved head, and a smaller guy with dirty blond hair. I remembered there were there before we left for dinner; they had been trying to get us girls into the shack with them. We all thought they were crazy and said no. Now the bigger guy came up to me, trying to get me in there again. I said no, but he grabbed me, and put his arms around me and quickly kissed me on the mouth. As he released me, and I felt woozy.  Suddenly things were clear- of course I wanted to go into the shack, he'd be there in a bit to be with me. So I walked into the shack. Inside, dirty blankets had been spread all over the floor. As I stood their waiting, I started feeling sick, and realized I wasn't thinking like myself. He had done something when he kissed me, I suddenly felt drained. I looked out the window and saw him trying to convince Leah, who was not cooperating at all. The he grabbed her and backed out of my view from the window. I was worried, and wanted to go out and help her, but for some strange reason I could not make myself move from the spot. The door to the shack opened. He had returned, and had a large bulge in the front of his jacket. He opened it and Leah rolled back, fell to the floor. She had been tucked against his bare chest in the jacked. As she fell away from him, energy arced between them. On the ground she looked visibly drained, but was already reaching for him again. I tried to go up to her and pull her away; he laughed at me, and said he had already taken from her, now she would keep coming back for more. 'So it's like an addiction?' I asked. He smiled. It can't be too late, I thought, after all he had done the same to me - I remembered the drained feeling - and I recovered. But then I've never been caught up in an addition, and Leah has a history of being susceptible to them. Leah is trying to reach for him, he laughs again and takes her from me.

He takes her out of the shack and moves through the crowd. I follow them. He takes her into a house, where there is a dog barking. I stand outside the door wondering what to do. He will kill her if he drains her completely.  The guy's other friend has appeared, he is trying to grab me, and either put me under his spell, or just stop me from disturbing his friend (who seems to be the leader). I'm quite angry at this point.  Another of my friends is outside the house, I try to get her help, but she is too busy talking on a cell phone. I grab the guy by the hair and slam his face against the wall. He struggles with me so I do this a few more times. He is a bit disoriented, so I grab his shoulders and shake him, making the back of his head hit the wall repeatedly. I want him knocked out so that he does not bother me while I'm saving Leah. He still is conscious, so then I grab just one arm, swing him towards the wall and run him face first into it. Then just by his shoulder. Finally I give up, he is very out of it anyways, after all this beating on his head, and so I toss him to the ground.  As he falls he hits his head on the corner of a small plant bearing table and with a crack is knocked out. Huh I should have tried that earlier. I look at my friend again. She is still on the cell phone.

I walk a ways away from the house, trying to find some help. There is strange folky music playing and people are dancing. Its like a Halloween carnival. Then I look down and there is a wooden box with six black cats protruding from openings in it, their front paws and heads are sticking out of one side, and their back legs and tails are out the other. They also can talk. They tell me that they like me, and all jump up and put their front paws on my leg. The box is now tipped at an angle as the cats stand on their back legs, propped up on me. I reach down and scratch their back, which is really the box, which I'm reminded by - by the sound of nails scratching wood, and the splinters under my fingernails. However the cats seem to like this, they all begin to purr, and encourage me with cooing voices. We continue to sway with the music as I scratch their back…er box, then I realized I have the help I was looking for. They can distract the dog in the house while I try to free Leah. I can convince them, I do have a way with cats after all. So I tell them of my plan, they seem reluctant to face the dog, but agree. We go back to the house and I open the door. The barking dog comes running at me but then sees the six cats in a box and stops, then doesn't seem to want to come out and chase them. The cats don't really want to go inside either. I look at cell phone girl, trying to get her to hold the door open, I figure the cats can keep the dog busy for me by continuing this staring contest, if only I could get something to prop open the door. She ignores me. Then I see the unconscious guy and decide i can make him useful. Holding the door open with my foot I grab  him by the pant leg, then by the shirt and pull him in front of the door, using his limp body as a door stop. The cats and dog continue their staring contest and I go into the house. I can hear the guy. I think he knows that I'm there and is angry. I make my way around some crude wooden furniture just in time to see him holding Leah's limp body by the shoulder. He looks at me and grins. "You're too late!" he tells me, then slashes her neck with a large knife. She starts to fall, blood covering her shirt. She was already gone before he cut her, he had drained her. The cutting was for my benefit. I rush to catch her, but I wake up.

The Unwelcome Visitor/Bringer of Terror

I was in a college dorm, my new college it seemed, and it was coed. Sapna was there and a guy came around to the rooms to see if we were all settling in. Sapna said he was cute and seemed to have met him already. I go outside to look for something and a walking around the hallways, it feels a lot like an older hotel, the halls form half of a rectangle. I go right first, all the way to the bend, it bends right and goes down a little and I run into the guy Sapna said was cute.  I talk to him then I turn around and go back the way I came, going all the way to the end in the other direction, the left, and follow the bend left. I ran into Sapna, she said something then moved on. I see some exercise equipment ahead. This must be the exercise room and Sapna mentioned that the gal who ran it was a lesbian. I go in and there was the gal, and another girl who knew her with dirty blond hair. They are talking to I look around.  There are kind of three levels, with sloping floors between. The equipment is older and mainly stuff for walking or other kind of aerobics. She notices me and starts telling me a little about the equipment. Then she tells me about the machine, which is in the middle sloped area, which is broken. She said it lost the pin, and she won't touch the thing to fix it. It kinda looks like a strange bicycle thing, but my dream self recognizes it, and agrees with her, it would be dangerous to try to find the pin, better let an expert do it. At the is point the other girl, with blond hair, gives a big sigh, and walks over to the machine, and forcefully rolls back the top, the lesbian and I look at her in shock and await catastrophe. Nothing happens; she looks down, sees the fallen pin and pulls it out. We can't believe her hand didn't get smashed or something.

My dream changes settings. I seem to be at the college setting still but am now outside the grounds, at night in a trailer.

I was in a small trailer with Tegmine, like the upper trailer at my parents' house; we were on a bed with large windows all around. I looked out the one at the head of the bed out to the college grounds, and a sidewalk. A girl and her boyfriend are standing out there. They are looking for something, but the girl notices me. I have recently gotten out of the shower, and still have a towel on my head. While pretending not to know that she is there watching me, I try to casually reach up and pull my towel off and look at what Tegmine is doing (who has his back to the windows).  I shake out my hair, but she has moved on. Now a guy knocks at the door, and says "coming in" he adverts his eyes dramatically as if we are doing something naughty, but I tell him it's alright, we are dressed and he looks at us.
He comes in with a friend, both in black long coats. he says he is going to use the bath room, I tell him that I’m not sure that it is working, he says he knows it is and walks back into the tiny hallway. There is no door to the bathroom, so he closes the hallway door. His friend stands and waits, and looks through some stuff I have in the kitchen area. I realize I have some things that I don't know who they belong to. He is looking though them, and I wonder if he recognizes anything. The guy in the bathroom finishes up and they both leave, I get up and look through the stuff that I have, it’s in a black bag, one of the things is a mechanical pencil that is also a pen and a stylus, I run outside and yell at the guys who are walking away. They turn around and I tell the guys I have a bunch of lost and found stuff, and if they know anyone who has lost anything, send them to me. They nod and turn back around and continue. I go back inside.

Though I seem to be from the previous setting, I have traveled up the mountains, and am in some sort of mountain lodge. I go into the cafe, which is kinda L shaped, and I enter into the crook, the room wraps around me. The counter also follows the L shape. I look at what they have to offer, all overpriced. I see a man eating steaming buttered corn bread. It looks good, so I go to the counter. I am waiting for the cashier; the lady in front of me is taking some time. The cashier gal yells for a man to come up and help. Meanwhile I am looking through my purse to see how much I have. I know I have nothing in my bank, and therefore have to use whatever cash I have on me. I go up to him and try to tell him I want corn bread, but for whatever reason I can't remember what it is called.  I tell him these and tell him it is sweet and good with butter. I feel silly playing this guessing game, but it should be hard, they don't sell much, just a few gourmet baked goods and lots of beverages. He misheard the first time, and thought I tried to order some sort of alcoholic beverage, first I thought it sounded right then realized my mistake and asked him to take it off. I still struggled for the word, thinking pumpkin bread, but with corn, yeah! Corn bread! And I order a coffee drink, and they put these things in front of me, along with small round carton of ice cream. I guess I accidentally ordered that too, ah well, it looks good.
I sit down at one of the small tables and the lady brings out my receipt. It said 98 dollars and some change. wow that is wrong and I point it out to her, she looks at it says oh no and gets another lady, the older lady who I think is the manager or owner comes out, stands to my right and talks to me. The older man who was my cashier sits down at my left and they glare at each other. He leaves and she goes behind the counter to see what my bill should really be. While she is there the lights go out. And the room is lit by the bank of windows behind her with moonlight.

The room has changed and it now is longer and bigger, with long narrow tables, like a library, and she is behind on by the windows that runs parallel with the wall, all the others, like mine, are in rows perpendicular. At this point I realize I am dreaming and my dreamself realizes that this can't be real. She is talking to me about fear, I close my eyes and tell myself it is not real and try to make reality come back. I open my eyes but it is still dark and library like. All my things are spread out in front of me, my shoes and socks are off, and my purse is open, and I have a small book bag on the floor. The lady is still talking, now she says something about it is alright for a woman to be around alone at night, until something happens, then, if they survive, they can never be alone again. As she is saying this I see two humanish figures through the windows coming up to her. My dream self again tries to tell herself this is not real and closes her eyes. I have decided not to wake up, but see where the dream goes.

The figures turn out to be gooey decayed looking humanish monsters, which are primarily silhouettes in the moon light, but where they are highlighted they look dark brown and kinda slimy. One gets behind the women back, and slams its hands against the window. My dreamself keeps trying to close her eyes and "wake up" it works a little, the sounds are gone while her/my eyes are closed. Then when I open them I see that the second monster has come up behind the first and is choking it, the lady is looking at it through the window and screaming, frozen in terror. The second has killed the first and looks about to break through the window. My dreamself and I are terrified. She keeps trying to wake up. Again sounds are gone, but when she opens her eyes again, and looks the shadow of the creature is there, and it seems has killed the lady, her limp body hits the ground. My dream self is wishing she had picked up all her stuff, but is still debating. This is a dream, I should be able to control it. But it's not working. Finally the fear in my stomach wins out and I decide to run, then change the dream when I've gotten out of the dark scary room and away from the slimy monster. I try to grab some stuff from the table, mainly my shoes, but the creature has been silently moving around the table to me, and is much too close, I manage to get one shoe and my book bag when utter terror wins out and I run. I can hear it following behind, its labored rasping breath telling me how close it is. I throw the book bag hopping it will make it think I am elsewhere, but that doesn't work.

I break through the doors and run through the lit hallway, it seems there is light here. The hallway looks more futuristic, all white and black and there are lots of white stairs going to black doors.  I don't look back but know the creature is behind me.  There are some broken areas and it looks like more monsters have gotten in and have broken through doors. One door seems to have turned into the head of a demonic gargoyle, but I run past too fast to take much notice.  The hallways bends left then dead ends at a white wood door that is made up of horizontal slats. There is some space between the slats, I run through shut the door and lock it, the lock looks like the type on pretty boxes, when a hook swivels down and feeds through a little loop. The creature has not gone around the bend yet.

I look around for an escape route. Nothing. I go into one of the stalls closest to the door, and climb on the toilet. My head is above the top of the stall and I can see the entire bath room. I look at the ceiling to see if I can break through. As my dream self is trying to figure out how to get through the florescent lighting, my semi-conscious self once again debates on whether to force myself awake. The fear is much more real feeling then I'd like, I am usually not this affected. By a dream, the fear is seeping over into my physical body. But then I decide it might be neat to see what it is like to break through a ceiling, since you never get the chance to in real life, so I allow the dream to continue. My dream self has had little luck figuring out the calling, and is too afraid to try to close her eyes and make it go away, even though I/she still knows this is not real. In this pause, while considering the ceiling, I realize I can hear the creatures labored breathing, it has gotten to the door, but I cannot hear it trying to break in.

I turn my head and look down to the door, and can see it through the slats; it is standing there against the door, motionless, looking up at me. For a split second we made eye contact and I saw 'it' in there, a consciousness. This is too much. The fear kicks me in the stomach, my dreamself freezes in terror, and I force myself awake. I sensed too much of a conscious mind behind the eyes of that creature, an otherness. It didn't feel like something from my own mind, but some outside presence. I don't remember the face or eyes clearly because as soon as my dreamself looked into them, I started forcing myself awake, and the dreamworld began to fade. Even when back as my real, awake self, I could still feel the horrible terror for quite some time. I had the shakes for nearly ten minutes.
